Frederiksberg Forsyning
Backed by 140 years' experience, Frederiksberg Forsyning is Denmark's first multi-energy company and is responsible for providing district heating, electricity, gas, water and sewage services for domestic, business and public sector customers in the municipality of Frederiksberg. The company, which employs 180 people to serve around 60,000 customers, has annual revenue of DKK 1 bn.
Kühl+co is Frederiksberg Forsyning’s chosen collaboration partner for the development of corporate design and concept solutions for internal and external communication. Projects performed by Kühl+co include design of logo and identity programme (including workwear and cars), website, exhibitions, campaigns and other events.
Rikki Hørsted, Communication Coordinator, Frederiksberg Forsyning: "We selected Kühl+co as our collaboration partner for this major design project after interviewing the biggest and best design agencies in Denmark. Kühl+co got the job because we could feel their enthusiasm and sensed they would give it all they had. We were not disappointed."
The solution
Kühl+co's task was to create a visual identity that would present Frederiksberg Forsyning as a single entity both internally - to the employees - and externally - to local citizens and businesses, the customers! The identity creation process would also be an opportunity to swap the ‘municipal look’ as represented by the civic coat of arms for a more dynamic and energy-charged profile, without compromising the organisation's existing image as an efficient and responsible power supplier.
Frederiksberg Forsyning wanted to make its activities visible and to establish a single clear and consistent profile transcending all areas of its supply. Kühl+co produced the complete visual identity, which covered everything from logo and stationery to clothing and vehicles, including guidelines for application.
Frederiksberg Forsyning's logo is a combination of monogram and logotype – a dynamic energy spiral that symbolises the inflow and outflow of electricity, gas, heat, water and waste. It also draws parallels to primeval symbols for sun, power and development.
